I don’t have anything better to do right now (other than work on Innocence Seekers and related projects) but I would like to write this blog post regarding what I think about the stories people put out, as well as my preferences. The main reason I started Innocence Seekers in the first place is because there was nothing that fit completely within what I want to have in a story. These preferences have severely limited the amount of anime I watch, the amount of video games I play, and have put me off most stories written by Westerners (other than the ones in Western RPGs) altogether. While I have relaxed my restrictions slightly in recent months, I still find myself disinterested in most things that come out.

Off-topic post: Upcoming Anime Adaptations of Manga Time Kirara Manga
With AnimeJapan 2016 having come and gone, and the Winter 2016 anime season drawing to a close, I would like to mention some of the upcoming anime adaptations from some of the manga in the Manga Time Kirara magazine series. The Manga Time Kirara magazine series is a series of magazines published by Houbunsha whose main focus is moe. There are at least six (as far as I know; I’m not sure about the others) magazines currently being published. Four of them, the original Manga Time Kirara, Manga Time Kirara Carat, Manga Time Kirara MAX and Manga Time Kirara Miracle! are all yonkoma magazines (meaning they only publish yonkoma). Manga Time Kirara Forward, while it still focuses on moe, publishes non-yonkoma manga, sometimes with more “traditional” plots (if you can call it that; what I mean is that they’re not necessarily “cute girls doing cute things”) such as Dream Eater Merry (a supernatural action series), School-Live! (watch the anime/read the manga if you’re interested; I won’t say anything because of spoilers) and some Puella Magi Madoka Magica spinoffs (magical girl). The sixth magazine, Manga Time Kirara Magica, exclusively focuses on Puella Magi Madoka Magica-related material. Despite the fact that most Manga Time Kirara entries focus on young girls (or young-looking girls), often to the exclusion of male characters, these magazines are seinen (i.e. for older men).
Innocence Seekers: Akari of the Light Character Introduction – Yayoi Miyana
Over the next few weeks, I will be posting bios for the characters of Innocence Seekers: Akari of the Light, an entry of Innocence Seekers: The Black Rose. I have already posted two entries, that of Akari Kuritani, and that of Michiru Kurosawa. This will be the third of these posts, detailing another of Akari’s friends, Yayoi.
Innocence Seekers: The Black Rose – Trivia
For this blog post, I will detail the little things about Innocence Seekers: The Black Rose. These include things like inspriations, or perhaps mere coincidences. Like any piece of fiction, Innocence Seekers: The Black Rose has many tropes in common with other works, but also has aspects unique to itself.
It is important to note that Innocence Seekers: The Black Rose was inspired by magical girl anime, and as such, will play many magical girl tropes straight (such as transformation sequences).
Off-topic post: Seiyu Awards
This is not a post related to any of my projects. However, as part of being a fan of anime, I do follow Japanese voice actresses (I don’t follow male actors mainly because of the kinds of anime I am interested in, which typically have primarily female casts). A while ago, the 10th Annual Seiyu Awards was held, and they have announced the winners for their respective categories. In particular, I congratulate Inori Minase for taking out the Best Lead Actress award. She obtained her award for her roles as Yuki Takeya of School-Live! and Jun Naruse of The Anthem of the Heart, among others. I will detail some of the winners below (as mentioned above, I don’t follow male actors, so I won’t mention them).

Over the next few weeks, I will be posting bios for the characters of Innocence Seekers: Akari of the Light, an entry of Innocence Seekers: The Black Rose. The first entry, that of the main character Akari Kuritani, is here. This is the second of these posts, which will detail one of Akari’s friends, Michiru.
