Innocence Seekers: The Black Rose – A preview of New World Revolution

While I’m currently taking a break from Innocence Seekers: April Light (don’t worry, I’ll have episode 37 ready by the end of the month), I’ll take the time to give a preview of the next chronological entry of Innocence Seekers: The Black Rose. This entry, New World Revolution, will be set seven years after the events of April Light, and will follow Naomi Otohane and Olivia Benson.

As of now, I haven’t decided how many chapters this entry will comprise (if you’re wondering, I’ve decided to make April Light last eight chapters). How, I will show a bit of what the first chapter will involve.

The story begins in July 2019. It is the summer break, and Olivia, having moved to Japan only a few weeks before, has become used to living in Tokyo. Meanwhile, Naomi has decided to spend her time honing her skills as a magical girl, taking opportunities to train, both alone and with Olivia and Naomi’s junior Momiji. However, not long into the break, a significant and terrifying event occurred very close to home.

To the west, a massive invasion took place. North Korea fell to an unknown force wielding extremely powerful magic. The invasion took place so quickly that almost no one had any time to react to the invasion. As a result, the governments of China, Japan, South Korea and Russia sent troops to prepare for a invasion that they know they may not be able to repel. The Zodiac Warriors mobilised in response to the invasion, and realised that their normal forces would not be enough to solve the crisis. As such, they summoned the services of a single magical girl, Satsuki, and sent a letter to the Namari government calling for assistance.

The first thing Satsuki did was to contact Naomi. Naomi consulted her mother, who told her to accept Satsuki’s request for help. After a few days, Satsuki arrived in Japan, and met Naomi and Olivia. The two, along with Momiji, agreed to help Satsuki, and after some preparation, the group headed to Korea, not knowing what lay in store for them.

I won’t say who is responsible for the invasion in this post, but if you’ve read April Light, then you should be able to figure it out based on the title of this entry. Anyway, that will be it for now.
