Superboss

Jump to navigation Jump to search

In the Innocence Seekers video games, a superboss is a boss whose level and stats are far above those encountered in the main story. It is expected that superbosses pose a greater challenge to players than normal bosses. When defeated, these bosses may give rare items as rewards, and/or give the player an achievement. Because of the difficulty in defeating a superboss, the most powerful superbosses may only give achievements or items whose purpose is only to serve as proof of defeating the boss, as if the player is able to defeat it, he/she does not need anything more powerful than what he/she already has.

Innocence Seekers: The Black Rose superbosses

Recurring superbosses

Some recurring superbosses in Innocence Seekers: The Black Rose include the Phantom Devil, Zulrukka and Schwarzteufel. These bosses, when they appear, are among the most powerful superbosses in the games, often requiring the party to be at level 65535 with fully maxed out stats, as well as a fully upgraded Innocent Shield and attack spells to survive the boss's attacks and to reduce the amount of time needed respectively. Often, one also needs protection from elemental attacks and status effects.

Innocence Seekers: Akari of the Light

In Innocence Seekers: Akari of the Light, Avala, the witch who had formed a contract with Amelia, can be fought. She is found at the bottom of a 25-floor random dungeon, and when defeated will grant the party Innocent Shield and the ability to upgrade attack spells. To even challenge Avala, the party's levels must be at or close to the cap; however, fully maxed out stats are not necessary. Avala herself has just over a trillion HP, as well as a 90 per cent resistance to ether, making it difficult to deal significant damage to her without resorting to elemental spells. For all elements other than void (which no enemy resists), she is weak to only one of them and is immune to the rest. She can change her weakness at will, making the battle even more difficult. As for her attacks, Avala possesses a wide variety of powerful third-tier elemental spells such as Blaze EX, Blizzard EX and Thunderstorm EX, as well as Meteor Impact, which deals massive physical damage to the entire party. When her HP reaches a certain point, she will switch from third-tier to fourth-tier spells (e.g. Blaze Omega), dealing even more damage.

One valid strategy for dealing with Avala involves using Yayoi's Analyze technique to determine Avala's current weakness, and exploit it with the appropriate spells. Alternatively, one can use non-elemental physical attacks, which Avala does not resist (although her DEF is approximately double her RES). In addition, Inori's Inherent Ability Red Steel gives all of her attacks the Pierce attribute, allowing them to bypass, among other things, elemental resistances and immunities.
