Elemental Affinity Fire

Inori Akagawa (赤川 いのり) is a character who appears in Innocence Seekers: The Black Rose. Her first appearance was in Innocence Seekers: The Dark Angel Part 3. She is later seen in Innocence Seekers: Dimensional Crossing, when she was seen in Mimori Elementary School speaking to Mirai. Inori is a major supporting character in Innocence Seekers: Akari of the Light and Innocence Seekers: Mimori Flower Club.

At a first glance, it seems that Inori is introverted, given that she is often seen sitting alone, not talking to others. However, Inori herself states that even though she does not mind speaking to others, she does not usually start conversations with others because she does not want to interrupt others or interfere with their conversations. However, when the situation calls for it, she will stand up for others, which is how she became friends with Mirai in the first place.

As a mage, Inori is primarily a fire elemental magic user who usually fights without a weapon. She is equally capable in both close-range combat and long-range spellcasting, and her attacks emphasise overwhelming power over speed. Her Inherent Ability is Red Steel (赤い鋼 akai hagane), which, when activated, grants her exceptional defensive power (to the point of being able to resist anything a mage can throw at her short of a Full Burst Skill), and also grants her attacks the ability to break through any defences or barriers the target has put up (the only way not to be affected by an attack boosted by Red Steel is to dodge it). However, when activated, it rapidly drains her mana, and she can only activate it while in Full Burst mode.

Backstory

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

Inori's early life is not touched upon much in the story as she was largely unnoticed by many of the main characters in the earlier entries. However, Inori explains that, apart from knowing that she was a magical girl, she lived a normal life. She initially did not make any friends; as she did not want to annoy others by interrupting them, she never managed to speak to any of her classmates. However, one of the older girls, Sumire, spoke to her and asked her why she was alone all the time. Inori responded by saying that she dislikes annoying others, so she does not try to start unnecessary conversations. Sumire understood, and eventually the two became friends. Later on, she befriended Mirai of her own volition, after breaking up a fight between her and Mizuki.

Sumire introduced Inori to a girl who was staying at the Shiba residence. Inori asked about the girl's family, and Sumire responded by telling Inori about Yayoi and her friends. Inori said that she wanted to someday speak to them, and Sumire decided to write a letter to them about Inori. Eventually, Inori received a letter from Hiyori who desired to become friends with Inori.

Inori is a descendant of Tomoyo Akagawa, as explained by Hiyori. However, very few people knew about this, or even about Tomoyo's existence in history.
